Wordle Clouds of Obama and McCain Acceptance Speeches

Wordle is currently my favorite web toy for playing (and procrastinating).  In case you don’t know, Wordle allows you to create word clouds from blocks of text and RSS feeds.  The flexibility you have in selecting colors, fonts, and text sizing allows for a number of creative possibilities.

But the tool also allows for a number of analytical possibilities.  Along those lines, I decided to create Wordle images from the recent acceptance speeches from presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain in an exercise to compare and contrast the themes embedded in each speech.

The two generated Wordle clouds are below.  See for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Pretty slick stuff. Time permitting, I would run this for all our audio segments.
